Tate Modern – Picasso 1932

In 1932, Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) was not yet half -way through his career. After years of poverty as a young artist in Barcelona, he moved to Paris at the turn of the twentieth century and by the early 1030’s was both celebrated and wealthy.

I’ve always enjoyed Picasso’s work. Each time I attend a Picasso exhibition I see something different. On this occasion it was the naive description of subject by way of his brush strokes. The effortless and simple way he can describe an object with a sweep of accurate colour and texture.
